Zane’s Profile

Subjects Offered

Zane offers tuition for physics up to A level and mathematics up to GCSE.

Zane tutors during the evening and at weekends at his home in Brynmawr. In rare circumstances, he might be able to visit you at your home.

Teaching History

Zane has been teaching physics and maths since 1988. He first taught for one year at the Radcliffe School in Milton Keynes before moving back to Wales to take a job at Brynmawr School. When Brynmawr School went grant maintained in 1992 he moved to Nantyglo Comprehensive, taking over as Head of Physics there and eventually as Head of Science. When Nantyglo was closed in 2010 Zane moved back to Brynmawr School for another three years before taking a voluntary redundancy.

In August 2013 Zane was offered a part time job at Crosskeys teaching A level physics, BTEC Applied Science and GCSE maths. Just after Christmas that year he was offered a full time job there. On the retirement of his colleague, Steve Hughes, at the end of 2014, Zane has been the only physics lecturer at Crosskeys while continuing to deliver some units of the BTEC Applied Science course.

Zane is an excellent Teacher. He tutors my son for physics. My son finds Zane lessons very interesting and understands him. He provides all resources and gives him homework; This shows me that he as understands, what Zane as taught him that particular session. My son gets along with Zane and he enjoys going to his lessons. Five Stars from us ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Zane is tutoring our son Charlie in maths in the build up to his GCSEs. In a very short time, Zane identified specific areas of difficulty and developed Charlie’s confidence. Charlie has improved in these areas massively and is aiming for an A*. He really enjoys the sessions and has become far more motivated. Thank you Zane!

Rhys has found Zane's tuition very helpful with his up and coming GCSE. Rhys feels more confident and has even gained an award for Maths since Zane's help. Rhys feels at ease with Zane,s teaching style and I will highly recommend Zane as a maths tutor to anyone who asks.

We have been extremely lucky to find Zane for our son who was struggling with GCSE physics. Since September Zane has helped our son move from D grades into A grade standard in a relatively short time. I am very grateful for his help thank you.
